I’ve taken a cue from STAR magazine coverlines.
It’s the last Friday of 2007. And I’m marking the occasion by telling you what I can about the JD5, and how YOU, YES, YOU, the faithful readers of the (retro)blog can get your name in the acknowledgments page.
As I’ve mentioned before, I’m devoting 2008 to writing the fifth and final Jessica Darling book. I’ve spent the last four months or so researching and pre-writing JD5, and feel I’m finally ready to spend six hours a day in front of my laptop getting it out of my brain and onto the page. Three things I can tell you about this book:

I have not blogged for one reason: PS2 Karaoke Revolution.
I know it’s all about Guitar Hero 3 now and that K-Rev is so last year or whenever but I DON’T CARE. It still goes down with the bald preemie Cabbage Patch Doll named Stephanie Amelita (1986) as one of the most memorable Christmas gifts of all time. Thank you, brother in law of mine.
Now I must try to outscore a certain loved one’s 9000+ point total for his flawless rendition of “Respect” (Erasure, not Aretha). I’m thinking of going with “99 Red Balloons.” Wish me luck.

Between finishing Fourth Comings in February 2007 and starting the fifth and final (not the title, but it could be) Jessica Darling novel in 2008, I’ve kept myself busy by contributing to various books. Most of which should come out next year, but I just received a copy of The Ultimate Teen Book Guide: Including Raves and Reviews from Teens and Their Favorite Authors, which means it’s on sale now.
The title pretty much says it all. Get this book and you no longer have an excuse that there’s nothing to read. I wrote reviews for two of my favorite books…Pick it up and find out which ones…

Lately I’ve been getting quite a few emails from best friends, and more often than that, BOYfriends, asking me how it might be possible to get autographed copies of my books for the special person in their lives. I am more than happy to help out, especially in the case of the BOYfriends whose emails tend to be slightly embarrassed and totally adorable.

So yesterday I had my annual physical. I will spare you the details. (I’m healthy.) However, my doctor did give me some shocking, perhaps life -changing news:
I HAVE A DEVIATED SEPTUM.
