The (retro)blog is still on vacation.
However, I want to congratulate M.T. Anderson for winning the National Book Award for Young People’s literature with his novel, The Astonishing Life of Octavian Nothing: Traitor to the Nation. He is one of my favorite authors, and if you haven’t already read his books, you should.

Get yourself a copy of An Abundance of Katherines by John Green. This novel is so inventive and funny and that it manages to make the familiar (a broken heart, a road trip, a funny sidekick, etc.) feel brand new.

Thanks to everyone who came to Borders last night. Especially Ned Vizzini, who braved a perilous and smelly journey via NJ Transit. It was the perfect send-off before my own perilous but (hopefully) fresh-scented journey into the underground.
