Yes, I’m back again. I know I said I wouldn’t be able to keep up the new book AND the (retro)blog, but I want to try. I was feeling particularly stressed out that day, but I’m more optimistic this morning. In keeping with my positive mind-set, I plan to scan the next set of old notebook pages for future, regularly-scheduled postings.
Anyway, here are more random notes taken during the Second Helpings era, the kind of in-the-moment brainstorming I do in the months leading up to and during the process of writing all my novels.
I’m not suggesting that this “method” be used by everyone. But it seems to work for me.

A scene will often come to me in the form of dialogue…almost like I’m eavesdropping on a conversation between characters.
Here is Jessica talking to Gladdie at Bethany’s baby shower.

These notes were taken while on vacation in the Bahamas, hence the snorkel notation in the corner. Which goes to show you that my mind never stops working on these books, even when I’m ostensibly taking a break.
