Another (retro)ryu and two bonus poems.
When I was a junior the senior class of ‘90 chose THE OCEAN as their yearbook theme so my creative writing class was forced to write a bizillion poems on that subject to fill the “artsy” page. Despite the check pluses from my teacher, none of my poems were chosen by the yearbook staff because they were considered downers and didn’t extol Jersey Shore virtues using rhymes like sunnin’ and funnin’, tannin’ and keg-standin’, f@#*in’ and upchuckin’.

In my junior year I took the only creative writing class offered by my high school. It provided many opportunities to prove how deep and clever I could be.

Okay. My mom wants me to write a poem about orthodontics for–guess who?–my orthodontist. Since I’m in Language Arts, I figure it’s appropriate to work on this now. Oh. What to write? I mean, orthodontics is not the most thrilling of subjects.

I’m going to write this entry in handwriting because I’m out of handwriting (or cursive, whatever) shape. I realized it this weekend when I was writing MORE thank you notes for my Post-Sweet Sixteen Birthday Bonanza Bonuses and my mom said, “Use your good handwriting.” I was like, “I don’t have any good handwriting.”

Man, I look like shit today. Funny thing, people are saying I look good. I wonder if that’s just like an “Ohifeelsorryforyoupooruglypeople” reflex or whatever. I’ve got a zit with a personality of its own on my nose. Actually, I’ll tell you exactly where it is.

Duh. I’m supposed to record the events of the past weekend and how they affect me today. Monday.
I have no idea. I was bored and tired all weekend. I find myself bored and tired today. A DIRECT CORELLATION BETWEEN THE TWO? IS IT A PHENOMENON?
